In my work I aim to create images of discomfort. I take photographs at night in isolated spaces so as to enhance the feeling of foreboding that something will happen or something has happened. I present a deliberately ambiguous scene allowing the emotions of the image to be more accessible to the viewer.
I am instinctively drawn towards windows; they add an element of voyeurism to the image which the night scene enhances.
In my process I look at each image individually and try to locate a better image within it and crop it down to this. This brings up an issue of size and scale that I will be exploring further.

Feedback
I'd really love to get some feedback on my work. I'm interested to know whether you think the colour photographs or the black and white photographs achieve my objective. I'm starting to wonder myself if the colour photographs are too focused on the saturated colours that illuminate from long exposures. All comments are welcome and I can't wait to read them.
Artist Statement to date
First of all I'll update you with my artist statement then upload some new images.
My aim is to create a narrative through the medium of photography by making choices of space, lighting (day, night) and framing. I want to make a narrative that is sinister and dark and unclear. I want an uneasiness to be felt by the viewer when they view the image.

Video project
In college we got given a video project and I based mine on a day in the life of someone who is depressed. I did this using only reflections so as to slightly distort the image and give the feeling that one would be looking through their eyes.

My plan as of this moment..
At the moment I'm doing a bit of a u-turn on my work and completely focussing on photography and I'm really happy that I'm finally doing this; I've been wanting to do it for so long and I'm not really sure why I never did. Fear of not being good enough maybe?I don't know I wish I knew my own mind sometimes!
Anywho here is a rough draft of my artists statement....
My aim is to photgraph spaces in a way that creates a narritive. I want to do this in black and white creating this past- present conflict. I want to photograph outdoor spaces uninhabited by people but with traces of people having been present, leaving it to the viewer to decipher the narritive.
